Simple and Clean...
Italy's Leo Burnett Co. S.r.l. sure can kick it! This ad for Ariston's Aqualtis Washine Machine is a true gem! A concept so simple, yet original, with visuals that scream creativity combined with a moving song (Vangeli's "Ask the Mountains" feat Stina Nordenstan) seem to be the recipe for winning the Cannes Lions - International Advertising Festival, 2006 (Gold Lion) for Home appliances & furnishings.

Introducing you the Space Beetle...
VW has been driving mad apparently these days... Apart from the recent comeback of the Rabbit and the teary fairewell (for now) of our loving Golf, there is a new development on innovative design petit automobiles... the space Beetle. Well, it has not yet proved itself able to fly, but it is a considerable insight of what the future upholds. Perhaps, BMW is constructing a concept car of its own... the Underwater Mini..! Soon at a dealer near you!

Just so you know... having an ipod today doesn't make you all that modern! But, having the new nike ipod nano is what makes you really kicking! When you fancy going out for jogging or simply melting the treadmill, you need to have the right motivation. The Nipple guys have created the perfect motivation... your personal coach! Sportingbet.gr has created these funny ads to tell you that gambling is all about probability! If you got that covered you got to play on... Like this one... Love at first site?
The probability that Mrs Mary is going to have grand-children?
The probability to stare at this picture for more than 30"...?

Get Protected... and find The One!
This extreme and provocative but also tastefully made ad is created by TBWA Paris agency as an AIDS campaign. The sure thing is it will produce strong arguments and thoughts, but the graphics at least are exceptional...

Meet the craziest ad agency in America...
... Crispin Porter and Bogarty according to Businessweek. The famous agency, with almost zero TV ads, were the ones responsible for the 90% of the MINI's success in the US. One of their work worth mentioning is when they run a Ford Excursion around urban markets placing a MINI on top of the gas guzzler. The message implied was that "an Excursion owner was taking his MINI to the country for the weekend, instead of his skis or a surfboard". This stunt established in the US the idea that petitte is practicle yet pretty... which was the signature selling point for the MINI brand.

BMW brings innovation...
A new feature of night vision that hasn't been used before in regular cars is added in BMW 7 series... The video appears to be extremely convincing, however on a second thought, how often do you happen to be in the middle of darkness and your big lights seem to be inadequate?

... to be pride of is held in Athens today! The world’s largest public art event, originated in Chicago and New York in 1999 continues to grow by gathering new artists all over the world to express themselves on the standard statue cow, in order to create an auction in the end of the event for charitable causes. Picasso's art ranks most expensive in auction history...

...as a portrait of his mistress Dora Maar is sold for $95.2 million in Sotheby's on May 3rd. The painting "Dora Maar au chat" becomes the second highest price ever paid for a work of art at auction, after "Boy With a Pipe (The Young Apprentice),"which is also a 1905 painting from Picasso, created in his Rose Period, which brought $104.1 million at Sotheby's. Apparently the bidder was not familiar to the Sotheby's executives and was sat on the far back of the auctioning room. Viewers said that he was holding his 1340 numbered plate and bidded in an unusual style. The bidder remains to be unknown, an added element to characterize Sotheby's auction trully spectacular. It appears that the art market has bounced back fiercely...

What an MBA won't teach you...
is the truth about advertising!!! This trully brilliant and hillarious clip is the creation of director Tim Hamilton back in 1999. Nevertheless, if you view it it perfectly applies to the bitchiness involved in every workplace... especially when it comes to advertising! (source)

How Kaavya Got Signed and Got Caught...

Only a month ago, every student at Harvard University was envious of a fellow freshman, Kaavya Viswanathan, who got a $500,000 deal by a prestigious publishing company, Little Brown & Co, for her new fiction How Opal Got Kissed Got Wild and Got a Life and for a following novel. On top of that, DreamWorks expressed an interest to create a movie based on Kaavya's book. For an unpublished writer at the age of 17, sealing this deal, seems beyond any kind of imagination... However, the story unfolds in a bitter ending as the Harvard student gets caught plagiarizing 14 passages from author Megan McCafferty's novels, Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings. Kaavya publicly apologizes about 'internalizing'' McCafferty's words in her own writing, since she has been a fan of the author from a very young age and resorts to cancel all books published, until the novel is reviewed. More updates on the story can be found in Harvard's magazine, here.
Mac does it simple...

when it comes to advertising! It appears that Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs, has resorted to the traditional way of marketing his products, by confronting the competition head on. The new series of TV commercials features a humorous comparison between PCs and Macs, portrayed by author John Hodgman as a nerdy PC and another younger, sexier actor as the Mac (source), who discuss about viruses, unexpected freezes and the iLife software package. This could be the perfect case study for hostile advertising (click on the image to view it)... The war is on!
