But it can be addictive for adults too... What else can you to do to kill some of your dull morning office hours than globetrotting around Google Earth?

Impossible is nothing!!!

We see a lot of design objects lately, but i mean the ipod has taken over the world! This new piano-like table is a sound system for your ipod that can be turned to a unique office desk or even a dinning table (eh! not so cool...). Nicholas Lovegrove & Demian Repucci are the creative designers for this Concerto table Since, we're on the subject of Christmas lists these days... I'd definetely add this one in (source)!

Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana take it up a notch, by opening a new Gold restaurant in Via Poerio in Milan! The golden theme is in tack with there limited golden edition of Motorola RAZR... "Everything, from the stairs to the luminaries gleams in sparkling yellow hue" (source). Well, it was about time! I mean Roberto Cavalli's cafe in Milan has been keeping the model-hungry clientele for years.. D&G are the only designers that can make tacky into classy... It shall be a golden year for sure!

Sexiest Christmas ad...

...this year is undoubtedly David LaChapelle's Boots ad! And its already known that anything LaChapelle does is sexy! It definetely is unconventional, kind of the Bad Santa movie - nothing PG and christmacy about it! Andy Brent, marketing director for the ad, said "We want to bring some glamour into women’s lives this Christmas and remind them to take time out for themselves to look and feel special too." (source) and the final product for this brilliant campaign was supermodel femmes fatale applying make-up while having to deal with all things domestic too! The £15 million campaign was a creation of advertising agency Mother London by creatives Damon Collins, Iskra Tsaneva, Jo Forel, with agency producer Emmalou Johnson. So men, get your ladies gorgeous this season...

Simple and Clean...

Italy's Leo Burnett Co. S.r.l. sure can kick it! This ad for Ariston's Aqualtis Washine Machine is a true gem! A concept so simple, yet original, with visuals that scream creativity combined with a moving song (Vangeli's "Ask the Mountains" feat Stina Nordenstan) seem to be the recipe for winning the Cannes Lions - International Advertising Festival, 2006 (Gold Lion) for Home appliances & furnishings.

When the marketing gurus join forces...

Just so you know... having an ipod today doesn't make you all that modern! But, having the new nike ipod nano is what makes you really kicking! When you fancy going out for jogging or simply melting the treadmill, you need to have the right motivation. The Nipple guys have created the perfect motivation... your personal coach! If music is the way to run, your shoes will do the talking and your ipod the listening... The nike ipod provides you a pair of magic Nikes with a sensor in them that controls your pace and gets connected with your ipod. This way "your run takes on a whole new dimension". The songs change depending on your rhythm... How cool is that?

Can you believe this ad???! This worldcup mania has been the perfect gift for the advert people... Even garage doors use this event to get noticed nowadays! Well, i guess commenting on the woman's boredom during this man-stuck-infront-of-telly period is the natural way to go...

Can you bet on it?

Sportingbet.gr has created these funny ads to tell you that gambling is all about probability! If you got that covered you got to play on... Like this one... Love at first site?
The probability that Mrs Mary is going to have grand-children?

The probability to stare at this picture for more than 30"...?

or what's the chance that Panos is the father of this kid? (when considering that all Greeks are white...) Hillarious!

Meet the craziest ad agency in America...

... Crispin Porter and Bogarty according to Businessweek. The famous agency, with almost zero TV ads, were the ones responsible for the 90% of the MINI's success in the US. One of their work worth mentioning is when they run a Ford Excursion around urban markets placing a MINI on top of the gas guzzler. The message implied was that "an Excursion owner was taking his MINI to the country for the weekend, instead of his skis or a surfboard". This stunt established in the US the idea that petitte is practicle yet pretty... which was the signature selling point for the MINI brand.

BMW brings innovation...

A new feature of night vision that hasn't been used before in regular cars is added in BMW 7 series... The video appears to be extremely convincing, however on a second thought, how often do you happen to be in the middle of darkness and your big lights seem to be inadequate?

Another cow parade...

... to be pride of is held in Athens today! The world’s largest public art event, originated in Chicago and New York in 1999 continues to grow by gathering new artists all over the world to express themselves on the standard statue cow, in order to create an auction in the end of the event for charitable causes. This cow not only represents the trends of art nowadays, but more importantly it is a symbol of unity and philanthropism...

Picasso's art ranks most expensive in auction history...

...as a portrait of his mistress Dora Maar is sold for $95.2 million in Sotheby's on May 3rd. The painting "Dora Maar au chat" becomes the second highest price ever paid for a work of art at auction, after "Boy With a Pipe (The Young Apprentice),"which is also a 1905 painting from Picasso, created in his Rose Period, which brought $104.1 million at Sotheby's. Apparently the bidder was not familiar to the Sotheby's executives and was sat on the far back of the auctioning room. Viewers said that he was holding his 1340 numbered plate and bidded in an unusual style. The bidder remains to be unknown, an added element to characterize Sotheby's auction trully spectacular. It appears that the art market has bounced back fiercely...

What an MBA won't teach you...

is the truth about advertising!!! This trully brilliant and hillarious clip is the creation of director Tim Hamilton back in 1999. Nevertheless, if you view it it perfectly applies to the bitchiness involved in every workplace... especially when it comes to advertising! (source)

How Kaavya Got Signed and Got Caught...

Only a month ago, every student at Harvard University was envious of a fellow freshman, Kaavya Viswanathan, who got a $500,000 deal by a prestigious publishing company, Little Brown & Co, for her new fiction How Opal Got Kissed Got Wild and Got a Life and for a following novel. On top of that, DreamWorks expressed an interest to create a movie based on Kaavya's book. For an unpublished writer at the age of 17, sealing this deal, seems beyond any kind of imagination... However, the story unfolds in a bitter ending as the Harvard student gets caught plagiarizing 14 passages from author Megan McCafferty's novels, Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings. Kaavya publicly apologizes about 'internalizing'' McCafferty's words in her own writing, since she has been a fan of the author from a very young age and resorts to cancel all books published, until the novel is reviewed. More updates on the story can be found in Harvard's magazine, here.

Mac does it simple...

when it comes to advertising! It appears that Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs, has resorted to the traditional way of marketing his products, by confronting the competition head on. The new series of TV commercials features a humorous comparison between PCs and Macs, portrayed by author John Hodgman as a nerdy PC and another younger, sexier actor as the Mac (source), who discuss about viruses, unexpected freezes and the iLife software package. This could be the perfect case study for hostile advertising (click on the image to view it)... The war is on!

The ultimate goal of this event will be to hold his breath underwater to break the world record of 8 minutes, 58 seconds. This is Day 2, and all goes as planned... Good magic is good marketing, no?

Dum or dummer????

Some people are dum after all! Check out a guy who played dare with his girlfriend in order to get her to do a threesome at http://www.helpwinthisbet.com/404/. What he'd lose if he didn't succeed the bet? Simply admitting that he is an idiot. It seems that his site is doing fine and he has a charisma in guerilla marketing! I wonder who's dummer in this story...

Magnum does it's magic again...

Impossible is nothing for Kevin Garnett

the biggest athlebrity of NBA is now part of the Adidas "Impossible is nothing" campaign. The latest ad by Adidas is trully genius, since it combines the humor and the underlying message aimed to inspire teenagers. As published in Adpunch, Kevin Garnett is a great role model for the brand, because "His determination and leadership on the court are what make him such an exceptional player".

New Pepsi ad features Christina...

which adds a bit of a controversy to it, knowing that Ms. Aguilera was a devoted fan and once the face of Coca-cola. Pepsi has been boosting its image by creating the battle of pop icons and the most popular and enjoyable of all will be the one between the two Mouseketeers, Britney and Christina. But when it comes to the ad (click on the image to view it) itself, it's a bit of a downer... Pepsi has produced dozens of more impressive and smarter ads than this one, such as the one with P. Diddy aired in 2005's Super Bowl game.

Absolutely Kreative...

the Absolut Kravitz campaign that is! Absolut took its advertising one step further by collaborating with Lenny Kravitz and producing a song for his new video. This song has been remixed in ten different versions by the producers of the moment, such as Little Louie Vega, Jazzanova and Nikkos Patrelakis. These songs can be downloaded for your liking on www.absoluttracks.com . The most thrilling experience however of this campaign is not just the smart idea of Absolut to combine its product with music... its the skip-a-heartbeat feeling once you enter for the first time on the site... The visuals combined with the rocking vibe that comes from Lenny's music leaves you in awe... You can select the track of the producer that you like most and when it uploads you're trasnferred to a new venue specially designed to fit with the style of the producer. You even get to see an image of the artist that seems so real.... you think he's about to start dancing! This is new advertising...

A silly comment loving event for a good cause...

It's this time of the year again, when Eurovision approaches and some countries are working hard (aka Cyprus, Turkey, Greece and Sweden) for this flop fest and others are playing it cool by doing nothing and appearing unprepared until they get riduculed on stage (aka UK, France and Spain)... I think this year it'll all be different! First and for most because Maria Menounos will be presenting the show and second because it will be held in Greece! It will certainly be another high-calibre event for the Greeks to clean up their act and show their million dollar Olympic face again! One things for sure, Eurovision is a great way to advertise the winner country's touristic treasures! So live your myth in Greece...

Pink says it raw!

Pink ridicules the superficiality and the clueless behavior of today's american pop culture icons in her latest music video "Stupid Girls". She's been bolder than ever in this parody that satirizes splitting images of Paris Hilton's notorious sex tape, Linsday Lohan's careless driving, Jennifer Simpson's raunchy music video and Mary-Kate Olsen's love for Hollywood's ultra trendy bootique store. This video certainly gives a positive strong message to young women and shutters the media's obsession for all things beautiful yet not necessarily smart.
Pink herself comments on the storm she created by saying: "I love the discussion that's going on right now. There's always a backlash when you challenge people's convictions and their heroes"But I don't do all this so I can be in Us Weekly every week. I don't do this so that people think I'm cool."I never said I was perfect, and I never said anybody else doesn't have permission to make fun of me for what I do. I'm a walking contradiction. I'm a hypocrite sometimes. I'm a work in progress."But I'm working to be better. I'm seeking out smart people and responsible women, and I'm standing up for animals. “I'm not making fun of a certain person, I'm making fun of an idea, and I think they're missing the point. Sexy doesn't have to come with the price tag of being dumb."
Well spoken Pink! Although this idea could be a perfect tool to make her the next pop queen idol!

James Blunt sells his sister on ebay...

Move over Jamie Foxx's bentley, Britney Spears's antique chair... here comes the latest trend in celebville: SELL YOUR SIBLING! WTF??? Apparently James's sister needed desperetely to fly to Ireland for a funeral, but could not find a flight. Then came brilliant brother to the rescue and auctioned her on ebay until someone would fly her with the requirement that the buyer will treat her nicely. The prince was found who ultimately flew her by helicopter and became her beau for the last 18 months...
And just when I thought James Blunt was successfull!

Charlize Theron strips for Dior...

...and who is not gonna adore this ad??? OMG it makes you want to watch the whole thing over and over again... this is even better than the first one Theron did for j'adore perfume.
That's it! There's no job for models no more... Nicole Kidman is for Chanel, Uma Thurman for Louis Vuitton, Halle Berry for Versace, Diego Luna for Zegna and the list goes on... are the ones who seal the deals with the leading luxury brands and become their new faces! You got to be an acclaimed actress to be a supermodel nowadays... so why Kate Moss is still on business???

Zazoo... zazoo.. zazzz up!

This is one of those ads that you haven't got a clue what the product is goint to be... it catches you off guard! Well this one created by Stef Selleslaghs in Brussels really works! You'll just wanna make this kid zazzz up and buy whatever that is this ad is selling! Watch it here!

One for the ladies...

Girlfriends, this coloreria italiana ad is for you! I think this coloraria ad just kicks ass... however I doubt if anyone takes the soap seriously to trust its clothes with it, but it surely is a cool image to associate the product with it! The ad will have other uses than selling soap, such as to create expressions like "I found a coroleria guy" or "He needs to be coroleriaded"... be creative, find some more!

The bestest ad ever...

My bad... apparently there's nothing remotely close to Honda's ad "Honda Choir" created by Wieden & Kennedy London with the self-proclaimed "best ad ever" in the previous post. Toyota's RAV4 is soooooo yesterday! Apparently the ad has attracted some controversy in the UK mainly because of the high level of downloads that it has originated. More of this you can find out on "welcome to optimism".

Fashion & Cosmetics Moguls do detention...

The french antitrust regulators took action to control the unrealisticly high prices of top luxury goods and perfume companies by issueing fines. The Competition Council explained that a certain group of companies had set up a price agreement to "artificially inflate prices" and threaten those who were unwilling to follow suit.

According to the Herald Tribune, yesterday, the companies that were fined were Sephora of LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy) group by 9.4 million, L'Oreal by 4.1 million, Chanel by 3 million, Parfums Christian Dior by 2.2 million, Yves Saint-Laurent Parfums by 1.8 million, Guerlain by 1.7 million and many others.

The brands in order to defend their case justified their high leveled prices as a means to keep their good quality and luxurious image in tact. Will these fines rationalize luxury suppliers? I surely doubt so... but it's a good start!

Move over Pink RAZR... GOLD D&G has arrived!

Can you keep up?? Motorola did it again!! After thrilling us with its sharp silver & black razors and becoming a household name again on mobile innovation, it treated all girls with pink cute little gadgets that was spring's must-have of 2006. But, what can top this new obsession? A collaboration of Motorola with Dolce & Gabbana to create an exclusive gold razor v3i is all that Victoria Beckham could have hoped for! This limited edition razr of a thousand only pieces is sold exclusively in Dolce & Gabbana boutiques. Sigh! When genius meets style... (Source)
